My favorite funky rowhouse [Jul. 3rd, 2007|10:04 am]
Funky Midatlantic Rowhouse

This house is a breath of fresh air in neighborhood full of drab, tan or gray stucco rowhouses. The vibrant color, coupled with the whimsical steps and the tiny but riotous garden, make me smile whenever I walk by.

Plus a few more from the neighborhood... Many different styles.
(Unfortunately, due to, um, legal/zoning issues which must be settled, I cannot post any photos of my own house. Soon, I hope.)

i love the way they're so solid and small and squeaky clean. this reminds me a lot of baltimore. i have to get up there and cruise the boulevards with you and your tiny minions.

what is called that mosaic technique on the stair risers? mille feuille is not it. luscious.

I don't know what that style of mosaic is called. Do we assume it has a specific name? I guess I should do some poking around to find out.

The houses around here are generally pretty small 2-3 bedrooms, about 15-16 ft. wide, 800-1200 sf. There are some larger versions, more akin to a Brooklyn rowhouse, but they are far less common.
